Search Tips
Search Terms: To improve your search results, refer to the International Thesaurus of Refugee Terminology (ITRT). This is used to provide the specialised subject terms. For geographic terms use the Huridocs Micro-Thesaurus.
- If you leave the search field blank, all items (documents and journal issues) will be listed.
- To search for all variants of a word (e.g. child and children) use the * character. So for example enter the search term child* to search for child and children. Also use * for plurals, so enter refugee* to search for refugee and refugees.
- To search on more than one term put the terms in the box with no punctuation or operators between them:
palestine children education - If you are looking for a specific phrase, enclose it in double quotes, thus "refugee convention".
- The search allows the use of a range of Boolean operators:
- a search on palestine +gaza will return results that contain both 'palestine' and 'gaza'
- a search on palestine -gaza will return results that contain 'palestine' only when they don't contain 'gaza'
